On Halloween, a Strange Thing Happened in My Class (In English and Chinese + videos )
(American Chinese Class Story Series)
01
Do you think it was scary? Is it evil?
Whenever Halloween comes, everyone dresses up as monsters and demons to attend the Halloween party.
But last year, that Halloween day was really special.
Because we were during the epidemic period, we could only go online for Chinese class at that time. But I never thought that before it was time for trick-or-treating, the demons and monsters actually really came to our class.
Do you think it was scary? Is it evil?
But, we are not afraid of anything. Don’t believe me? Come and follow our American Chinese class and have a magical Halloween trip!
Last year, I still remember the fun and scary scenes in our class on Halloween! What would it be like?
Demons and monsters came to our class, really?
It’s Halloween night in the U.S. and I found three original Chinese short videos that I made last year about the kids. Join us to watch and review our fantastic ideas from last year!
Guess what kind of fancy costumes the kids wore to the Halloween party? But why was only one girl determined not to show any interest in Halloween? Why did one boy say he would definitely attend? And what was the reason why three other boys could not participate in the Halloween event?
Do you know what other weird scene happened in my online classroom that day? It was scary for everyone. It wasn’t even trick-or-treating time yet, and demons and monsters were attacking?
For more, please watch the three original videos that I spent time making last year and posted on my WeChat channel “海外双语妈咪-诗如梦”. I am also sharing them as follows.
You are also welcome to tell us your “Goldbach Conjecture” with your brainstorm.

This is a wonderful way to learn a language!
I still remember the Halloween of last year. It coincided with my online class for children in my American Chinese class. During the class, everyone shared their great eagerness for Halloween. Even the pandemic couldn’t stop their hearts from going to Halloween events.
We had a very interactive online session in our class that day. We watched animations together to learn Chinese. I asked kids to say the Chinese names of the demons and monsters that appeared in the funny animation, as well as their English names.
When Chinese and Western holidays come around, I usually intersperse my lessons with corresponding contents to teach Chinese if possible. These are extensions that I give to the children in addition to the textbook.
In this way, I can boost the children’s interest in learning the language and at the same time learn more about the diverse cultures of China and the Western countries, especially about Chinese culture.

No one knows this secret.
After last year’s Halloween Chinese class, I spent some time to create three additional bilingual Halloween videos for kids and posted them on my WeChat channel “双语亲子时尚圈”.
In this way, children can learn the language right along with the videos. Children here and abroad can follow the video to learn Chinese, while children in China can follow the video to learn English. This is a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
Whenever Halloween comes, all kinds of demons and monsters come. Are you scared?
Here, I want to tell you a secret: if you know who they are and can say their names out loud in English and Chinese, you will not be afraid of them anymore.
This Halloween secret, I only whispered to you.
Now, I’ll share three short videos here again as well. Please let the Bilingual Parenting Fashion Circle take you on a bilingual parenting Halloween trip! Let’s watch the funny videos together.
When we are afraid of demons and monsters again, please say aloud the Chinese and English names of various demons and monsters, make you and me bravely back. Believe me! It’ s true!
Another Halloween passed
I never thought time would pass so quickly. This year, another Halloween has already passed.
Still in the pandemic period, how did you spend Halloween this year? Did you choose to be at home, or did you go out with your friends to trick or treat? I’d love to know.
Did you have any fantastic ideas for Halloween this year? Also feel free to tell me your funny stories and adventures on Halloween and send me photos or videos of your Halloween activities, etc. If possible, I will use it in future articles or videos, looking forward to it!
