GNCA, along with API Middle Tennessee, NAPAW-Nashville, Tennessee Chinese American Alliance, and Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, will host a candlelight vigil in downtown Nashville to mourn the deaths of eight people, including six Asian women, in last week’s xenophobic attacks in Atlanta, Georgia. The groups will also denounce the growing anti-Asian sentiment running rampant through our society while calling for meaningful change in our communities.
The vigil will feature speakers from the Asian American community and will be held simultaneously with sister events in Memphis and Knoxville. Masks and social distancing are expected and the events will be livestreamed.
