School is back in session, and now is the time to encourage your child to participate in our 2024 I’M INSPIRED Asian-themed book essay contest! GNCA, along with partners API Middle Tennessee and Nashville Chinese School, is sponsoring the event to help our community’s students learn more about the history, customs, achievements, and cultural contributions of Asian Americans through reading. We are accepting essay submissions for the contest through September 30, and all K-12 students in Middle Tennessee are eligible to participate.
The rules are simple: read a book written by an author of the AAPI community or featuring Asian or Asian American history, customs, achievements, or cultural contributions. Then write an essay or book review answering the following questions:
- How does the book inspire you? How do you think it will inspire others?
- How does the book impact your perspective?
You can submit your essay via Google Forms at the link below. In addition to the essay itself, you will be required to provide your name contact information, the school you attend, a word count for your essay, and other information. NOTE: Applicants 13 and under must have a parent or guardian to submit the entry on their behalf.
