Belmont University will hold a screening of the award-winning 2020 documentary Far East Deep South on Thursday, November 30, 6:00pm in Bunch Library Multimedia Hall. In the film, a Chinese-American family’s search for their roots leads them to the Mississippi Delta, where they stumble upon surprising family revelations and uncover the racially complex history of the Chinese in the segregated South.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film’s producer, Baldwin Chiu. The discussion will be moderated by Jackie Patillo, President of the Gospel Music Association. This event is open to the public and free to attend. Free parking will be available on campus.
