On November 14, at 7pm, GNCA will present an online informational seminar by the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), a nonprofit organization that provides free services to immigrants and refugees.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about this local organization that provides many resources our community can benefit from. Representatives will introduce the organization and some of the many free services it provides:
- Assistance in navigating the process of applying for US citizenship
- Legal assistance for immigrants
- Helping people navigate often complex government websites and bureaucracies
- Voting: educating immigrants on the importance of voting, assisting voter registration for immigrants who are citizens, and providing information about upcoming elections
- English language classes
- Translation and interpretation
- Civic engagement: helping immigrants to organize and be heard by the community and government
